Box Elder Hollow Vessel


The colors in Box Elder are caused by the secretions of a beetle, and can range from a dull brown to a vivid red!  Nature at its most magnificent!

If you look closely, you will notice that the lip is different from most hollow vessels, which usually are either flat, or slanted slightly upwards.  Here, I kept the edge going and curved it down into the vessel.  As a result, your eye is drawn up the side, over the top, and into the vessel, as opposed to just ending at the top
