I was turning this hollow vessel when the outside wall and the inside wall became one and the same (i.e., I went through the wall!) It happened fairly high up the piece, and rather than making the edge even, I exaggerated the unevenness and made it very jagged. That looked quite interesting, and I drew even more attention to the rim by bleaching the rest of the wood and scorching the rim. Happy accident, indeed! |
