This little piece of Ambrosia Maple had amazing colors and lines running through it. If you look closely at the two images on the left, you will notice that the lip is different from most hollow vessels, which usually are either flat, or slanted slightly upwards. Here, I kept the edge going and curved it down into the vessel. As a result, your eye is drawn up the side, over the top, and into the vessel, as opposed to just ending at the top. |
